On any given day, at least one hundred people, sometime more than three hundred, would practice at Taimiao. This was the biggest Ta...

Wu Yinghua-Taiyuan-92-slow form.mov
I am so happy I discovered this. I attended a William CC Chen workshop back in the 80's and learned more in three days than I had in three years of daily practice previously. His skills were so advanced that at times he appeared to be supernatural. He asked me to do push hands with him. I couldn't believe the honor. As we engaged William somehow caused me to throw myself back. I couldn't help it. He did it repeatedly. I closedmy eyes thinking it was some small signal. He still caused me to throw myself backwards. It was not a sudden flinch that I could feel. To this day I have no idea how he did that. When I asked him he just shrugged. A true grandmaster of T'ai Chi.

Very good the best Wu slowset i ever saw real long term skill and flow top wu practioner most forms I see have been changed or re routed but not her True Original 89 Slowset as taught to her from a child by father Wu Jian Chuan not some off shoot form .True Wu Slow. This was a rare treasure, finally get to see an authentic form from the grandmaster. Thank you very much!
Well ... nice clips. But you mixed up Wu Jianquan with Wu Quanyou ... and maybe more 😉✌🏽 Cheers!
Greetings Udo: I did not mix them. Some group in Kiev edited this video, and I re-posted it. You are referring to the bust of Wu Jianquan where the video states that is Quan You. I agree. I can not edit that out since I did not create the original video. They (Kiev) were correct in naming him Quan You and not Wu Quan You (a later development). (Smile here). There are not known pictures or busts of Quan You. Probably Wu Jian quan is mentioned here as part of the family lineage, but that is about it. This video really just deals with the Beijing group of Quan You's Taijiquan. Wu Jianquan moved to the South in 1928...."Wu taught Taijiquan in southern China while Wang Maozhai remained in Beijing. These two great Taiji Quan masters came to be known respectively as Nan Wu Bei Wang (南吴北王) - South Wu and North Wang. www.ycgf.org/Masters_in_YCGF/TJ_QuanYun.html

Looks exactly like Chen Fu’s Yang Style…
Paul: this is not Yang style except that its origen is from Yang Luchan. ..."It is said that when the great master Yang Luchan (杨露禅) taught Taijiquan in Shenjiying (神机营) - Emperor’s elite Capitol Garrison - the Modern Firearm Division, only three of his students, all low-ranking officers, really understood and mastered his superlative skills. These men were Wan Chun (万春), Ling Shan (凌山), and Quan You (全佑)." Quan You taught Wang Maozhai and Maozhai taught Yang Yuting (no blood relation to the Yang family of Yang Luchan > Yang Jianhou > Yang Yanhou & Yang Chengfu). Quan You >Wang Maozhai > Yang Yuting > Wang Peisheng are known as Northern Wu or Beijing Taijiquan. From Quan you comes also a branch developed by his son Ai Shen, later change his name to Wu Jianquan and moved to Shanghai. This branch -carrying the Family name of Wu Jianquan is known now as Wu Family Style. Neither Beijing, nor Shanghai styles look like Yang Chengfu's.
@@oicaroh sorry there is no amount of persuasion that will convince me otherwise. There is no … I repeat no real documented evidence found anywhere that what Bonhou (and that means his dad too!!!) taught was different the Wu style. Since Wu Style mimics Yang Chen Fu’s AND Let’s not forget Hou Style!!!! which came directly from a student of LuChan himself… All three WU, Hou and Chen Fu’s (aka modern Yang Family Style) all follow the same Shen fa (i.e stylistic movements etc and Quan fa) Sorry bud you got sold garbage if you think the above is any different than Yang Chen Fu’s … And if is… it was made up.
@@paulcalugar1438 : i could mention many differences but if you have not practice Northern Wu you can not understand what I could explain to you. Take one thing Northern Wu weight distribution is strictly 100% -0% in each foot. Not just sometimes. Every single posture. Yang Chengfu's pictures show you clearly a very different weight distribution. But I don't go for the pictures. I was the 1st Director of Coaching and Ranking standards department of the Yang Zhenduo's Yang Family asociation. (That does not mean much to me, except that I am very sure of what they taught). What do you practice? I don't "think" they are different. I "know" they are different.
@@oicaroh what you mentioned are nothing but stylistic difference. One more time… . Wu(Hao) style came from Wu Yuxiang HE TRAINED under Lu Chan himself!!!! Wu Wuanyou ) a military officer and founder of WU style (also trained under Lu Chan and his Son Officially Documented both…(i.e outside Both Yang, Wu and Hao families) Both those styles mimic Yang Chen Fu’s (only with a few stylistic difference) in form!!!!! And function!!! That’s all documented. Verified. If you are practicing something that does Not look like Yang Chen Fu’s or Wu or Hao (& both WU and Hao are just a small circle interpretation) You are practicing some made up bull shit! That is not real Yang style. everything I have seen that claimed to be “Old Yang Style” had suspect linage or looked like made up shit… (usually both in various degrees) What I laugh at is… a Yang taichi community void of anything martial in prowess.. taking umbrage with the truth that Yang Chen Fu’s style is the original. ???? Somehow Chen Fu’s style isn’t legit… yet it mimics the two styles that have the only documented evidence of Yang Lu Chan involvement/influence. Any and all those “Old Yang Styles” claiming to be Lu Chan’s come from some 2nd cousin of a 2nd cousin of some Yang family long deceased. If you haven’t notice yet TMCA are filled with “tall stories” and suspect linages” Nothing screams pure bull shit than some family style practiced behind closed door that has never been tested in public Anything labeled “old yang style” that I’ve seen… fits the BS moniker!
@@paulcalugar1438 The lineage i mentioned: from Luchan to Quan you > WangMaozhai> Yang Yuting> Wang Peisheng is totally different than the simplification Yang Chegfu created when he had to teach publicly to the masses. If you think that chengfu did what Luchan did, how can i put it? You need to do more research. You think Wang Peisheng has not been tested publicly? or his descendants still alive? Do some research. Don't be like the frog that makes everybody laugh. Again: what do you practice?

OK interesting but what is the point or purpose of cutting footage and showing a few seconds. Tai chi is a life time study. Total waste of time. What is the benefit of hiding the whole form?
Probably, when this was originally filmed, only excerpts were filmed (on 8 or 16 mm ?). If I had the whole thing I would have -for sure- shared it in its entirety.
Original footage is from RUclips Channel: "Victorian & Edwardian Martial & Exercise Films". It says: "Film release date: 1939. The actual footage may have been filmed a few years earlier. Location: Tai Miao- Beijing- China This upload includes a slow-motion take. Description: Description: This footage shows two martial arts practitioners performing sword forms at Tai Miao (Forbidden City). The footage is part of a film showing 1930s Beijing (Peking) that was shot by a British scholar studying in China. His camera captures the many aspects of 1930’s Peking: trams jostling with camels and motorcars, a herd of sheep by the Qianmen gate, lantern shops outside the Forbidden City and street markets where vendors peddle hot snacks and acrobats perform."
The great benefit is that at least we get to see some of it. Oicaroh deserves massive thanks for posting this.
Even from these few movements, I can compare to their later disciples, and see how these great masters succeeded in the ultimate goal of producing students who could continue to advance the art. Not every style can say the same.
